Hiccup and TOOTHLESS share solid bond in Hidden World

January 23, 2019 BY

Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless return for one last adventure in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Having now become chief of Berk, Hiccup is striving towards his goal of creating a world where dragons and humans can live in harmony.

However, this state of peace is threatened by dragon hunters, who seek to use the dragons for their own nefarious purposes. Among them is Grimmel (F. Murray Abraham), a dangerously crafty hunter who is after a particular prize: Toothless.

Determined to protect their way of life, Hiccup, Toothless and their friends set out on a quest to find the Hidden World, the dragons’ legendary home world.

As the final film in the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, this movie managed to wrap off things nicely.

Hiccup certainly has matured a lot since the first film, growing from an awkward teenage boy into a capable (if still a tad awkward) young man and leader.

Much like the previous films, the heart and soul of this movie is the bond between Hiccup and Toothless, which is as adorable and beautiful as ever.

Their friendship is tested throughout the narrative, not just by Grimmel and the hunters, but also with the arrival with a female Night Fury, who Toothless quickly falls for.

Hiccup’s bond with Toothless isn’t the only relationship that gets looked at.

We also see the relationship between Hiccup and his girlfriend, Astrid (America Ferrera), and even a little bit with his now-deceased father, Stoick (Gerard Butler). Nothing feels overcrowded either as every relationship gets the right amount of time it deserves.

All in all, this was an excellent final chapter. You’re sure to smile, you’re sure to laugh and you might even shed a tear or two. You can’t go wrong seeing it in cinemas.
