A PAIR of familiar faces in Surf Coast construction are working under a different name, but are bringing the same commitment to thorough and attentive service to local homebuilders.

Directors Peter and Kerri Scott rebranded their building company to Coden Homes PJ Scott in February, after almost 20 years under the Hotondo Homes umbrella and more than 40 years’ total building experience.

The family business says it has returned to its origins and gone back to designing and building personalised custom homes.

The business has retained its draftees, estimators and administration team, and directors Peter and Kerri Scott remain in charge of day-to-day operations.

Coden sales consultant Jake Veale said retaining staff in-house under its new banner meant Coden could provide its clients with top-to-bottom service from the concept to delivery of their dream homes.

“Now being Coden Homes, we have the ability to design your house from scratch,” he said.

“We’re basically a one-stop shop. Clients can come to us with their budget and ideas, we can sit down with our in-house draftsman and design the house for you, your block and your views, and everything you want and need.

“Through in-house drafting, we can sit down straight away know what the pricing is going to be. You design your house exactly how you want while knowing what you’re going to pay.

“The feedback on that has been really good and people weren’t aware that we could do all that.”

The new name will come with the same experience that have made it synonymous with Surf Coast building for nearly two decades – starting with Peter kicking off his building apprenticeship with his father 45 years ago.

Veale said that the Scott name had been a steady presence in Surf Coast construction for several decades and was a reliable business to trust with the substantial investment of building a home.

“There’s also that name recognition with Peter and Kerri. People know their names and faces in the community, and with Torquay football and netball clubs.

“They are local people building a local business.”

Coden’s local knowledge also includes expertise in building on sloping blocks, and delivering high-quality builds that can be the forever homes of their owners.
