Spring into Central Geelong these school holidays

The “Let’s Move”-themed program has lots of free activities for the kids to try, including Footy Fun and Giant Games

Spring has sprung and it’s time to shake off winter and get the kids moving!

Love Central Geelong’s ‘Kids Fun Guide’ is out now and has over 90 exciting activities, events, exhibitions and competitions on offer to keep the kids busy and active these school holidays.

The “Let’s Move”-themed program has lots of free activities for the kids to try including; Parkour, Drumming, Juggling and Hooping come and try sessions; Yoga and Zumba classes; Active Painting, the CHYA Dance Party and lots of fun recycled and sustainable craft sessions.

Highlights of the program include:

FOOTY FUN & GIANT GAMES
• Where: Steampacket Gardens, Eastern Beach Road
• When: Wednesday 26 September, 11am-2pm
• Face Painting: 11am-1pm
• Cost: Free
• Bookings: Not required

• Just in time for the AFL grand final, we invite you to bring your footy and have a kick on Steampacket Gardens and get your face painted in your favourite team’s colours. Plus there’ll be giant games including twister, frisbee target, snakes and ladders, pickup sticks, croquet, Jenga, and more. For all ages.

ALADDIN STORY TIME AND ACTIVITIES
• Where: GPAC Foyer, 50 Lt Malop St
• When: Wednesday 3 October
• Session 1: 10am-10.45am & Session 2: 11-11.45am

• Cost: Gold coin donation to Geelong Hospital
• A fun and friendly session with the Empress, Genie and cast of Medimime’s pantomime – Aladdin. Hear the traditional Aladdin tale, colour your very own poster and learn some cool dance moves. For 3-10 years.

BOAT MAKING & SAILING
• Where: Customs Park Lawn, Eastern Beach Rd (next to Sailors Rest)
• When: Thursday 27 September, 11am-1pm
• Cost: Free
• Bookings: Not required
• Ahoy there me hearty’s, mateys, scallywags, seadogs, and landlubbers! Come and build yer boat and sail it on the high seas (Customs Park fountain). Bring yer gumboots, yer gunna get wet!! ARRRR! While stock lasts. For ages 3-10 years.

MUMMY & ME YOGA
• Where: Fernwood Geelong, Shop 4, 60 Brougham St
• When: Monday 24 September
• Session 1: 10am-11am (5-7yrs) & Session 2: 11.30am-12.30pm (8-12yrs)
• Cost: Free

• Zen out and spend some quite time with your little one in this kid friendly yoga class.

MUMMY & ME ZUMBA
• Where: Fernwood Geelong City, Shop 4, 60 Brougham St
• When: Tuesday 25 September
• Session 1: 10am-11am (5-7yrs) & Session 2: 11.30am-12.30pm (8-12yrs)
• Cost: Free
• Bookings: centralgeelong.com.au/events/zumba
• A fun and uplifting class for all to enjoy with freestyle dance movements that are kid friendly and not too difficult to grasp.
