The Barwon Heads Art Group is bringing back their much-loved annual Easter Art Show, and this year it will include a live painting demonstration.

Art group convenor Dorothy Schwarze Van Dorp said the exhibition would bring its usual well-loved community atmosphere to the weekend, as well as a special paint demonstration by local artist John Moore on Easter Friday and Easter Sunday.

“It’s a community art show and the community always loves it.

“We have our repeat visitors who come along every year, and lots of new faces.

“There will be ocean sceneries, that is always a favourite theme in the paintings, local scenery, birds, animals – everything.”

Van Dorp said all paintings on display would be available for purchase, as well as hand-painted cards and gifts.

Ten per cent of everything sold on Good Friday will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

“It’s a gold coin donation, just come along and enjoy the atmosphere with all the artists, and they artists love nothing more than showing their works.

“They’ve been working for 12 months on these paintings and are very proud of their work.”

The exhibition will take place at the Barwon Heads Senior Citizens Club in Clifford Parade over the Easter weekend from April 7-10 and will be open each day from 10am-4pm.
