BARWON Water has been ranked as the top water authority in Victoria in a recent customer survey.

The latest Essential Services Commission customer perception survey showed the organisation scored the highest in all four measures: value for money, level of trust, reputation in community and overall satisfaction.

The survey takes in more than 5000 customers from urban and regional water corporations, ranking them on a scale of one to 10 in the four key areas.

Barwon Water exceeded the sector average across the board from February 2024 until November 2024, scoring the highest in overall satisfaction with an average of 7.1 compared to the sector’s 6.4.

Barwon Water acting general manager customers, community and strategy Emma Connan said the authority’s care for customers was at the heart of everything it did.

“Ensuring community members have a positive customer experience is everyone’s job at Barwon Water,” Ms Connan said.

“We are committed to making sure our customers have high-quality services and experiences [including] our support to customers experiencing financial hardship.

“Listening to our customers and community helps us continually improve, remain inclusive, caring and easy to deal with.”

The organisation services more than 320,000 residents, covering the City of Greater Geelong, Borough of Queenscliffe, Surf Coast Shire, Colac Otway Shire and part of the Golden Plains Shire.

Since August 2022, it has ranked either first or second in each measure of the survey.

The recent results showed an improvement in Barwon Water’s average scores in every category compared to the previous year.

Barwon Water says it is working to ensure it provides a consistent, high-quality customer

experience across all parts of the organisation.
