MORE than 5,000 movers and shakers turned out to Deakin University’s Waterfront campus on Sunday for the Humans in Geelong expo.

Fifty exhibitors ranging from authors and creatives to sustainability and action groups were in attendance to meet with event guests, which included Surf Coast Shire mayor Rose Hodge, City of Greater Geelong councillor Jim Mason and Animal Justice Party MP Andy Meddick.

A raft of impressive performances from local groups wowed audiences, with Dazzling Dan the Magic Man, Widya Luvtari (Indonesian dance group) and 2009 Australian Idol contestant Kim Cooper taking to the stage. The event has been hailed as “the best yet”.
