Community grants applications go online
LOCAL community groups are being invited to submit online applications for the Borough of Queenscliffe’s annual community grants program.
Borough mayor Bob Merriman said council was very pleased to provide an online application process, developed in response to feedback from the community, for the 2019 Community Grants program.
Mr Merriman said in 2018, council awarded more than $19,000 of grant funding to a range of local organisations.
“We are proud to support these organisations that play such an important role in our community,” Cr Merriman said.
“Council strongly encourages eligible groups to submit an application for this year’s Community Grants program.”
The program aims to encourage and assist community organisations to be actively involved in the community that they operate within, empower communities to become stronger and more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable, enhance leadership, and develop a sense of pride, ownership and identity within communities.
Grants are available to not-for-profit community groups or organisations with the capacity to match the grant amount on a dollar for dollar basis, either in cash and/or through in-kind labour and materials.
Only one grant application per organisation can be accepted.
Eligible projects must be managed through a legal entity such as an incorporated association, be of benefit to Borough of Queenscliffe residents, start after July 1 and be completed by June 30, 2020.
Projects with multiple components are permitted.

Council invites applications for the Community Grants program from May 1 until 4pm on June 7.
