Queenscliff Station was abuzz with excitement over the weekend as the magic of Thomas the Tank Engine came to life.

Participants embarked on a 45-minute journey aboard one of three Thomas the Tank Engine-themed trains, immersing themselves in the world of the beloved icon.

The “Day Out With Thomas” event was hosted by the Geelong Steam Preservation Society and inspired by the classic works of Wilbert Awdry and his son Christopher.

Event organiser Kate Kenny said the feedback from families emphasised its success.

“The feedback we received indicated that there was plenty for families to do, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive.”

The Day Out with Thomas event is held three times a year, with the next one scheduled for January.

“Tickets will go on sale by the end of October, making them great Christmas presents,” Ms. Kenny said.

Tickets for the January event are expected to sell out fast. A new Polar Express-themed Christmas train ride event set to run in December has already sold out.
