Geelong commuters have faced another disrupted run to work, with V/Line services on the Geelong line suspended for the second time this week.

All trains on the line were suspended at about 7.30am on Friday due to a track fault between Lara and Manor Junction.

Coaches will replace all services between Waurn Ponds and Wyndham Vale, with select services cancelled.

Transport Victoria’s signals team is working with V/Line to monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic lights to assist coach movements where needed. It is the second disruption on the line this week, after a cable theft halted services near Lara on Tuesday, June 30.Passengers travelling between Geelong and Melbourne will be transferred at Wyndham Vale station, where they can connect to metro services into Southern Cross.

Meanwhile, commuters departing Southern Cross towards Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool can board replacement coaches to complete their journey.

V/Line is investigating the issue and was unable to say when services will resume.

Full details of service changes are available on V/Line’s website: https://www.vline.com.au/

More to come.
