Jiminy Cricket! Pinocchio comes to Drysdale

January 16, 2020 BY

Alysha Kitchingman and Jess Smith join Chris Reynolds to bring the tale of the wooden boy made real to life in the production of Pinocchio at The Potato Shed

GET THE kids off their screens this summer and give them the experience of the stage, as Theatre 3triple2 4 Kids brings Pinocchio to the Potato Shed January 16 – 17.

Head along and meet Geppetto, Pinocchio, the fairy, the donkey, the school boys and the lolly seller, played by three talented and enthusiastic performers: aspiring young actors Alysha Kitchingman, Jess Smith, and seasoned performer Chris Reynolds.

With two shows every day at 11.30am and 1.30pm, this fun reinvention of the original Pinocchio directed by Jennifer Brown, follows Pinocchio and Geppetto, as Pinocchio turns from a wooden carved puppet into a real boy.

“It’s a really interactive show, we get the audience involved. The more they’re involved and the kids are loving it, the more enthusiastic and excited we get as performers,” Mr Reynolds said.

“I would come to at least 25 shows every year at the Potato Shed. Real theatre is a great experience to give kids, and families and this show is a lot of fun.”

Pinocchio’s journey is not entirely straightforward – he is easily led and has to work out for himself the difference between lies and truth.

The story blends the traditional fable with some modern twists and some touching moments.

Help Pinocchio make it through his journey as he meets an assortment of funny characters along the way, some who trick him and some who help him.

Will someone help Pinocchio to believe his dream of becoming a real boy?

Can he learn right from wrong? Does he have the courage to be a real boy?

Filled with catchy original songs great characters and hilarious jokes this show is the perfect way to get the kids out of the house, at a price everyone can afford, with one dollar from every ticket sold donated to Australian animals via Wild Life Victoria.
