Kebab shop owners on search for new location

July 10, 2019 BY

PORTZ Kebab Arama Coffee House is searching for a new location to operate from after closing late last month.

After nine years of serving the Portarlington community, the kebab business was forced to move on after the landholder refused to renew its lease.

Owners Alin and Bayram Cingoz were informed in May that they would have to close by midnight on June 30, which caused outrage among the local community.

A total of 1,189 people signed a change. org petition to help save Portz Kebab Arama Coffee House, which was started by concerned resident Rebecca Kelly.

But on June 22, locals came in to say their final goodbyes before the shop officially shut.

Mr and Mrs Cingoz took to social media on June 27 to reflect on the end of a chapter which began on December 26, 2010.

“We have loved every minute of and spending time with a gorgeous community and the returning customers year after year for summer – we will miss you all,” they said.

“Thank you everyone for helping us make the kebab shop so successful.

“We look forward to seeing you all in the near future.”
