A BIG couple of weeks for Geelong’s lady tennis players, with the midweek grand final matches, followed a week later by Geelong Lawn’s annual ladies tournament on Tuesday, December 4 – a real festival of ladies tennis!

Tennis In Geelong’s Phil Hunt was there again at Geelong Lawn to take what has now become the annual group photo – and that’s it above, with all 65 participants and some officials in there too!

Weather was great for tennis on those superb grass courts with curator David Quick giving the lines a last-minute spruce-up ready for the eight divisions of players in that very popular changing partners format.

Catering was fantastic, with the kitchen working overtime and three stalls selling candles, handbags and accessories and Christmas fare. Not forgetting ‘Lawn member Beris Marshall’s magnificent floral arrangement table!

A very special ladies tournament to farewell 2018, with midweek starting again on Tuesday, February 5, 2019!

MIDWEEK ladies’ season concluded with the grand final matches on Tuesday, November 27, when 11 grades of players fought it out for premiership glory. Check out Match Centre for all of the results.

Tennis In Geelong was at Clifton Springs Tennis Club to watch grades 1 and 3, with some fantastic tennis played, in a fiercely competitive, but very friendly spirit too!
