Hamptons-style Old Torquay gem nets impressive price
Charming weatherboard style, versatility of layout and an enviable location have secured a bumper $3.65 million result at 18 Anderson Road, Torquay.
One Agency Surf Coast’s Chris Henson sealed the result late last week, with the two-week selling campaign drawing genuine interest from five parties and saw vendors picking between three competitive offers.
The Hamptons-style design provided a point of difference compare with the modern builds that have become increasingly popular in Old Torquay and proved a hit with buyers.
The rear house, which was the property’s original residence, includes three bedrooms with a kitchen and living space, and was seen by buyers as a potential guest house for visiting family or friends.
Mr Henson said the sale proved interest remained robust in local property despite well-documented market pressures related to interest rate rises in recent months.
“We’re in a normal market, whereas the last two years have been abnormal when everything was going crazy.”
“If it’s a good home, in the right location and at the right price, it’s still going to sell.
“That’s across the board, whether it’s a home like this or in the newer areas.”
