Anglesea Golf Club – January 4, 2018

THE busy season is upon us with the golf course and clubhouse fairly busy. Members, guests and visitors are encouraged to book tee times or tables in the Bistro in advance to avoid disappointment. Phone 5263 1582.

On Wednesday December 27, we had a Men’s and Women’s Stableford competition.

Men’s A Grade winner Chris Gowans, handicap of eight, returned 38 points. Men’s A Grade runner-up was John Owen, handicap of two, 38 points, on a countback.

Men’s B Grade Winner Peter Jillard, handicap of 21, 44 points. Men’s B Grade runner-up Stephen Alsop, handicap of 15, 39 points.

Men’s C Grade winner John Cullen, handicap of 25, 38 points. Men’s C Grade runner-up Colin Favre, handicap 22, 37 points.

Women winner Caroline Dickins, handicap 17, 37 points. Well done to all considering the heat.

On Saturday December 30 the Men and Women played Stableford. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Milo Gelic with 39 points, from runner-up James Bryan with 39 points on a countback. The B Grade winner was Gerard Waller with 42 points. The B Grade runner-up was Mick Hayward who scored 41 points, on a four-way countback. Bruce Harrell won C Grade with 40 points from runner-up David Elam who scored 38 points, on a countback. Ball rundown to 38 points on countback.

Women’s Winner Jan Stewart with 38 points. Ball rundown to 35 points on countback.

The Men’s A Grade winner was Geoff Simmons with +5 on a countback. The B Grade winner was Tim Lee with +7. William Wolke won C Grade with +1. Ball rundown to +2 on countback. Women’s winner Mary Funder with +1. Ball rundown to square on countback.

On Monday January 1, the Men and Women played Par.

The Men’s A Grade winner was Andrew Daffy with +3, while Tim Connelly finished runner-up with +2. The B Grade winner was Phillip Morgan with +3 on a countback from runner-up Colin Watson with +3. Len Ballem won C Grade with +2 while Malcolm Titshall finished runner-up with +1. Ball rundown to +1 on countback.

Women’s Winner Linda Aimers with +1 on a countback from Jackie Pearce on +1. Ball rundown to -1 on countback.

NTPs: 3rd Claire Brennan, 6th Hugh Pearce, 13th Claire Brennan and Jackpot 16th Tim Connelly.
