Have a ball with Surf Coast Racquets

HAVING only opened their doors last month, the team at Surf Coast Racquets say they’re looking forward to engaging with the region’s thriving tennis and squash community.

Owned by Tim Batty, Tim has been involved in tennis for over four decades and squash for over 25 years as a player, coach, sponsor and retailer.

Based out of Geelong Lawn Tennis Club, Surf Coast Racquets aims to provide tennis and squash players with a wide range of competitively priced racquets, shoes, accessories and restrings.

“I have another shop, Brighton Sports, up in Melbourne and love the tennis/squash retail industry and saw there was a need for a specialist shop in Geelong,” Tim said.

“My family is from Geelong, so I have close ties down here and plan to move down here in the next few years.”

With a team of four staff, Surf Coast Racquets is open from 10am-7pm Monday to Friday, and from 8am-2pm on Saturdays. The store is closed on Sundays but will open on tournament days.

“All our staff are tennis or squash players. We specialise in great service and competitive pricing,” he said.

“Even though Surf Coast Racquets is based at Geelong Lawn Tennis Club, it is an independent retail store open to all clubs, coaches, players and parents.”

Surf Coast Racquets is excited to present its free demo program which allows players to take home two or three tennis or squash racquets for up to 48 hours before making a purchase.

Tim said this “unique opportunity” gives buyers the chance to make an informed decision before deciding on a racquet.

The new store is also offering 25 per cent off the RRP on Wilson Performance racquets and Rush Pro shoes until June 30. All purchasers of either of these products will also go into the draw to win a signed Serena Williams Wilson Blade.
