North Geelong makes it 4 GCA titles in a row

The North Geelong Cricket Club has made history by clinching their fourth consecutive premiership in the Geelong Cricket Association Div 1 Grand Final, defeating East Belmont in a highly competitive match.

Batting first, North Geelong put up a formidable total of 5/211, with A Fergusson leading the charge with an unbeaten 48 runs. N Cooper, S Hall, D Kerr, and B Troy also made valuable contributions to the team’s total, scoring 37, 35, 33*, and 31 runs, respectively. East Belmont’s BT Knight was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/3.

In response, East Belmont’s top order struggled to make an impact against North Geelong’s bowling attack, with only HJ McMahon putting up a strong fight with an unbeaten 63*. SM O’Neill contributed 26 runs, but the team ultimately fell short, bowled out for 180 runs. T Mathieson was North Geelong’s standout bowler, taking an impressive 5/26, while D Kerr took 3/31.
