Queenscliff Football Netball Club announce new president

November 7, 2019 BY

Queenscliff were the dominant team in the Bellarine Football League at the start of the decade.

QUEENSCLIFF Football Netball Club have recently announced Rowan Martin as their new president.

Mr Martin’s family is heavily ingrained in the club. His children are all involved in either football or netball and both he and his wife, Lyndal, have volunteered at the club in different capacities.

Mr Martin thanked outgoing president Andrew Conlan for his strong leadership, and said he wanted to continue to foster the family friendly atmosphere the club has created.

“It’s very much a family club, it’s all about providing the environment which is good for the players and the supporters but also the wider community as well.

“I think the footy club and netball club combined exude all those great little values of having a great community spirit.”

Mr Martin said he felt from his early observations as president that the club is on strong foundations, and was eager to keep it moving in the right direction.

Queenscliff were premiers in three consecutive seasons in the Bellarine Football League from 2011-13. Last year they finished eighth of 10 sides in the football and seventh of 10 in the netball.
