THE 2026 Dahlia and Arts Festival in Eaglehawk promises a vibrant three day celebration of creativity, community, and the rich harvest heritage of the region.

Taking place from 20 to 22 March 2026, this year marks the 53rd annual festival, transforming Eaglehawk into a lively hub of colour, art, flowers, and family friendly entertainment.

Centered around the festival’s 2026 theme, Harvest, visitors can expect an exciting blend of traditional favourites and imaginative new displays inspired by rural life.

One of the signature highlights is the stunning Dahlia display that draws flower enthusiasts from across Victoria.

 

The community is encouraged to fully embrace the theme through costumes, parade floats, art entries, and creative installations.

Festival organisers highlight that they’re hoping to see everything from farmers and scarecrows to papier mâché fruits, vegetables, cardboard tractors, and decorated wheelbarrows, adding a playful spirit to the event.

Over the three days, Eaglehawk will showcase a packed program of activities. One of the signature highlights is the stunning Dahlia displays, a beloved tradition that draws flower enthusiasts from across Victoria.

Visitors can expect traditional favourites and imaginative new displays.

 

Complementing the floral showcases is the Eaglebald Art Exhibition, which features local and emerging artists, along with the spirited Scarecrow Competition and the Mulga Bill Writing Award, encouraging literary creativity within the community.

Families can enjoy a range of free and accessible events, including movie screenings at Star Cinema, school relays, live music performances, and the bustling Gala Fair & Market hosted by the Eaglehawk Community House.

These events bring together local performers, artisans, and food vendors, creating a welcoming festival atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

The festival also includes activity at the Eaglehawk Commons, which serves as a creative civic centre throughout the weekend.

Visitors will find exhibitions, community spaces, and festival headquarters open between 20 to 22 March, enhancing the immersive experience. Meanwhile, the Dahlia Society of Victoria presents its own championship displays at 6 Darling Street, open to the public on 21 March, adding another layer of floral artistry to the weekend.
