POPULAR genre-spanning singer/songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke will make a welcome return to Ulumbarra Theatre on Saturday 1 March as part of her new 10-date, month-long Telling Tales Tour.

Accompanied by long-term collaborator Keir Nuttall on guitar, audiences can expect songs old and new, storytelling, emotion, humour, and music that transports.

During her 25-year career, the classically trained artist has performed at festivals and venues all over the world, including Coachella Festival, the Grand Ole Opry Nashville, the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Eurovision Song Contest, the Sydney Opera House and The Voice.

Miller-Heidke said the tour will feature new songs audiences will hear for the first time.

“We’ll take the very best bits from the Catching Diamonds tour (2024) and seamlessly weave them with spanking fresh songs – that’s the idea,” she said.

“Plus we have a fancy lighting and set designer this time, which always makes us sound better.”

She said the idea of getting back on the road made her feel “simultaneously thrilled and nervous.”

“I’m excited and scared. I’ve heard from scientists that these two emotions are physiologically indistinguishable,” she said.

“Ulumbarra is honestly one of the best theatres in Australia, there’s something magical about that room (and) I love Bendigo audiences.

“We can’t wait to be back there.”

Miller-Heidke will be supported on the tour by special guest Elana Stone, an ARIA award-winning singer, songwriter, pianist, accordionist and member of renowned folk quartet All Our Exes Live In Texas.

Catch Miller-Heidke at Ulumbarra Theatre on Saturday 1 March from 7.30pm. Tickets are available on Gotix.
