Women’s Choir to sing at St Paul’s

THE Central Victorian Women’s Choir will host their third choral spectacular, Come to the Music, on May 24th, at St Paul’s Cathedral in Bendigo.

This biennial event will see the choir, performing as Women of Note, alongside metropolitan and regional choirs in a series of concerts throughout the day, concluding with a combined Evening Concert.

The morning program offers the opportunity to participate in a vocal workshop with the highly acclaimed, multi award-winning vocalist, Lisa Young, of Coco’s Lunch and the Lisa Young Quartet. A chance not to be missed.

The first concert of the afternoon will feature Women of Note and the Melbourne based auditioned choir, Grace Notes Singers. Under the musical direction of the highly qualified and experienced Ed Chan, Grace Notes present a wide-ranging repertoire and a vibrant sound.

The Woodend Warblers, led by the enthusiastic Andrew Price, present their love of music and singing, inclusiveness and wonderful harmonies in the second concert.

They will be joined by Divine Divas, a community choir from the Sunbury region. Divine Divas are known for their beautiful vocals and harmonies, and entertaining performances.

The final concert of the afternoon program presents TAKT, a joyous a cappella blend of four unique voices, from the Macedon Ranges region in Central Victoria. Joining TAKT will be Exaudi, a choir of 75 very talented and experienced young singers from Metropolitan Melbourne, conducted by Juliana Kay and Mark O’Leary OAM. Exaudi present a wide range of choral music at an exceptionally high level. Founded in 2007, Exaudi is one of Australia’s leading youth choirs.

Come to the Music will culminate with a Grand Finale concert featuring all six choirs and closing with two combined items in what will be a spectacular ending to a wonderful day showcasing the creative and inspirational power of the human voice.
