THE City of Greater Bendigo and Be.Bendigo are teaming up to present the first ever Bendigo Climate Leaders Business Breakfast – Powering the Future, taking place from 7am to 8.30am next Thursday at Omari in White Hills.

The event will focus on helping local businesses tackle rising energy costs, reduce emissions and explore renewable energy solutions.

COGB Coordinator Climate Action Ian McBurney said it’s a great opportunity for businesses to learn from their peers and take away practical strategies to cut their operating costs.

“This breakfast is all about sharing ideas and real-life experiences to help businesses navigate the challenges of rising energy bills while becoming more sustainable,” he said.

“Attendees will hear from local businesses, including last year’s Climate Leader award winners, JL King & Co. They will also take part in a Q&A panel discussion and leave with practical steps they can take to achieve real savings.

“The event will also feature an introduction to the Climate Leader category in the upcoming Be.Bendigo Business Excellence Awards.

“(This) is an important part of the City’s efforts to support climate action across the business community.

“The City hopes that this will be the first of future events aimed at reducing emissions and building resilience in the face of climate challenges.

“We want to foster collaboration and inspire more businesses to join the movement toward substantial energy savings, and emissions reduction and the Bendigo Climate Leaders Business Breakfast can play an important role in driving that change.”

The event is free to attend with breakfast provided, but places are limited.
