THE laughs are on tap at the Piano Bar, as comedian Andrew Hansen brings his unique blend of music and comedy to the stage.

Hansen’s Laughs on Key tour marks his first time in Bendigo in 14 years, and he’ll be joined by Melbourne comedians Luka Muller, Daisy Webb, Prue Blake and Bendigo’s own Poppa.

Muller will take the role of MC, and he said he can’t wait to join The Chaser member on stage.

“I’ve never seen Andrew Hansen do solo stuff, but I remember I loved his songs back in the day,” he said.

“He’s done shows at a few comedy festivals this year and there was a lot of buzz. Can’t wait to see it.”

Muller performed during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival earlier this year and said he’s enjoying regular gigs again.

“I reckon only in the last two months does it feel properly back to normal,” he said. “It does feel like it’s finally clicked back for comedians again which is a real treat.”

No stranger to the Bendigo stage, Muller grew up in Echuca and experienced his first taste of comedy with a high school workshop.

“I grew up in Echuca and the comedy festival runs a thing called Class Clowns which is to teach high school students about stand-up, you do a workshop then a show, and when I was in year 12, I did that in Bendigo at the Capital Theatre.

“Since then, I would’ve come back 10 to 15 times. It’s always had a surprisingly good and active comedy scene, there’s a bunch of funny people in Bendigo running shows.”
