ORGANISERS have been forced to ditch Groovin the Moo’s 2024 tour because of insufficient ticket sales.

The music festival’s team expressed their disappointment and thanked people for their support.

“Ticket sales have not been sufficient to deliver a regional festival of this kind,” organisers said in a statement last week.

“All tickets will be refunded automatically.

“We hope to be able to bring Groovin the Moo back to regional communities in the future.”

This is the second time the festival has cancelled its dates in its 19-year history, being paused in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival was set for Prince of Wales Showground on Saturday 27 April in Bendigo as well as stops at Wayville, Canberra, Bunbury, Newcastle and the Sunshine Coast.

The 2024 line-up was announced in January, featuring both local talent such as Jet, The Jungle Giants and DMA’s, and international acts including Mura Masa, Kenya Grace and Armani White.

Groovin The Moo is the latest Australian event to fall victim to cost-related issues, joining a growing wave of festival cancellations including Falls, Coastal Jam, and Dark Mofo.
