THE program of local events and offerings on during this year’s Seniors Festival is out now.

Released by the City of Greater Bendigo, the program includes activities and events running from Sundays 1 to 8 October.

A highlight of the eight days includes musical tribute act Wendy Stapleton – The Dusty Springfield Show on at the Capital Theatre on Friday 6 October, as well as things like physical activity opportunities, try out events, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts, and film screenings.

City of Greater Bendigo mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf said this year’s program contained events that sought to connect people.

“This year’s program is packed full of great events with something for everyone and with many events either free or low cost it’s a great time to venture out and try something new,” she said.

“The theme for this year’s festival is Learn, Love Live and we encourage older adults to get out and about and enjoy the activities on offer.”

The full program is currently available in hard copy form from a rage of municipal locations including libraries and neighbourhood houses, Bendigo and Heathcote visitor centres, the City’s customer service centres at Heathcote and Gov Hub or online via bendigo.vic.gov.au.

To help attendees get to and from the events holders of a Victorian Seniors Card can access free public transport, including local busses and V/Line services for the duration of the eight day festival.
