THE clash between Sandhurst and Golden Square highlights Saturday’s start to the 11th round of first XI action in the Bendigo and District Cricket Association season.

A great win by Huntly North on Eaglehawk’s turf meant the Power stayed within three points of the fourth-placed Strathfieldsaye.

Huntly North is back home at Pegasus Pitstop Oval in Strauch Reserve to face Bendigo.

A seven-wicket haul by Shane Gilchrist followed up great innings by captain Ryan Grundy (90) and Sandun Rathnatunga (62) in the Borough.

It’s a big test for Bendigo, which was bowled out for 130 chasing the White Hills target of 282.

Strathfieldsaye and Eaglehawk face danger games.

The Campbell Love-led Jets are home at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane against White Hills, while the Hawks make their way to Harry Trott Oval in Kennington to take on Bendigo United.

Although it’s out of the finals race, Bendigo United can have a big say in who does make it.
