Goers face unbeaten Dragons

BENDIGO takes on the unbeaten Sandhurst in Saturday’s start to round three in the Bendigo District Cricket Association’s first XI action.

The James Ryan-led Bendigo will be on home turf at Lead Advisory Oval in Atkins Street as the clash hits off at 1pm.

Bendigo fell 10 runs short of reeling in Strathfieldsaye’s target of 259 in last Saturday’s chase at Triple M Park.

An unbeaten 107 by Kyle Humphrys and 97 by Ryan were highlights for the Goers.

After dismissing Eaglehawk for 124 on day one, Sandhurst declared on 9-234 on day two at Bendigo District RSL Oval in Weeroona Oval.

Key players in the victory for the Dylan Gibson-captained Dragons were spin bowler Liam Bowe, 6-29; Taylor Beard, 2-23 and 51 not out, and Jack Ryan, 46.

Eaglehawk and Kangaroo Flat will be determined to bounce back from defeat when they meet on the Borough’s turf at National Heating and Cooling Oval in Canterbury Park.

After a four-wicket win on Kangaroo Flat’s turf, Huntly North is back at Pegasus Pitstop Oval in Strauch Reserve to take on Strathdale-Maristians.

Suns’ opening batsman Dylan Clohesy has started the season with unbeaten innings of 107 and 100.

White Hills takes on Golden Square in the Demons’ den at McDonald’s Oval in Scott Street.

After a day one washout the Demons played a drawn match against Strathdale-Maristians as Bendigo United fell 21 runs short against Golden Square.

Strathfieldsaye is home at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane to take on Bendigo United.
