Hawks aim to break Square’s run
EAGLEHAWK faces another big test when it meets the ladder-leading Golden Square in Saturday’s one-day clash to complete round five of the Bendigo District Cricket Association’s first XI action.
Matches across all grades will be one-day following last Saturday’s washout.
It’s first against fifth as Golden Square takes on Eaglehawk at National Heating and Cooling Oval in Canterbury Park from 1pm.
Golden Square’s in-form players include captain Liam Smith, Scott Trollope, Connor Miller and Tim Wood.
Key players for the Hawks include opening batter Xavier Grant, Cam McGlashan, Cory and Linton Jacobs.
Another big match will be at The Dispensary Oval in Kangaroo Flat’s Dower Park where the Roos take on second-placed Strathfieldsaye.
There’s plenty of power with the bat and ball in both of the Roos and Jets line-ups.
Roos’ stars Dylan and Jake Klemm, Adam Burns and Daniel Barber are up against Chathura Damith, Ben Devanny, Pat Felmingham and Campbell Love.
Bendigo takes on the in-form Strathdale-Maristians at Lead Advisory Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.
Huge challenge for the Goers against the reigning premier which is brilliantly led by opening batter and spin bowler Cameron Taylor.
Huntly North Epsom is against White Hills at Pegasus Pitstop Oval in Huntly’s Strauch Reserve.
Both teams will be keen to bounce back from defeat.
Stung by its first defeat of the season, Sandhurst is back home at Bendigo District RSL Oval in Weeroona Oval to take on Bendigo United.
