Organised by a dedicated team of volunteers, the annual event once again celebrated the themes of community, resilience and renewal while highlighting Lismore’s ongoing recovery from the devastating 2022 floods.

“The weather was perfect and once again tens of thousands lined the streets and kept the CBD buzzing well into the wee hours,” she said.

Intricately handcrafted creations combined lantern-making, sculpture and costume design, with glowing fabrics, striking headpieces and recycled materials transformed into moving works of art that captivated spectators as they danced and paraded through the streets.

More than 2,000 participants then took part in the lantern parade, with schools, community organisations and performers carrying handcrafted lanterns through the heart of Lismore in a colourful display.
