Justine Martin is the Queen of Resilience. In 2011, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, underwent three heart surgeries, and then battled three primary cancers. She was told she would likely never work again. So, Justine did the opposite, building a platform to use her hardship to inspire others and make a difference in their lives.

She now runs the Justin Martin Corporation. An astounding seven businesses fall under its banner including resilience mindset coaching, a publishing company, and a professional art wellness group. Justine is also an author, keynote speaker, podcast host, and award-winning artist.

And now Justine is the winner of the highly prestigious Business Leader of the Year Award, sponsored by bay 93.9. The Business Leader of the Year Award celebrates the achievements of business professionals who can demonstrate successful leadership skills.

“The judges were impressed with Justine and her resilient mindset despite the number of setbacks she has received since 2011,” chair of the judging panel Simon Flowers said. “Her achievements of numerous businesses and staff since this time, and her leadership within the disability sector is huge.”

A disability advocate, Justine uses her own experiences of living with a disability to encourage others to take steps toward a positive future of their own. “One judge described her as an Influencer in Life,” Mr. Flowers said.

Through her work as a resilience mindset coach, Justine guides others through difficult and challenging times. Her programs are tailored to each individual and are designed to help them develop the ability to cope with adversity. The judges were particularly impressed with the extent of Justine’s contributions within the community.

“MS Ambassador for over 10 years, structuring businesses around disability, writing retreats on resilience all over the world, MS books, podcasts all directed towards the disability sector,” Mr. Flowers said. “She stated procrastination is not in her vocabulary, and she really does live, breathe, and sleep her brand. Justine is a true leader in the disability sector within the Geelong region.”
