Corporate Social Responsibility Award sponsored by genU: Coastyle Building Solutions
The awards are stacking up for Coastyle Building Solutions. The Indented Head-based residential builder has once again been awarded the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, sponsored by genU, and was shortlisted as one of four finalists for the Business of the Year award. This is the business’ second time winning this award after first securing it in 2021.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Award celebrates businesses who strive to have a positive social impact and promote inclusion in the workplace or community. It is awarded to businesses whose actions have led to the enrichment of the lives of those who have a disability or are disadvantaged.
After taking home the Health and Wellbeing Promoting Workplace Award in 2022, it is also Coastyle Building Solutions’ third consecutive Geelong Business Excellence Awards victory. The business and its staff are also frequently recognized by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and have been awarded the HIA Victorian Small Professional Builder of the Year Award each year for the past seven years. It’s a record that makes Coastyle Building Solutions truly an award-winning operation.
Established in 2007 by John and Anita Ekberg, the company has served the region for more than 20 years and specializes in custom homes, new builds, renovations, and extensions. It offers customers a complete building solution from concept through to completion whatever the size of the project.
For this year’s judges, it was Coastyle Building Solutions’ emphasis on supporting the community that was most impressive. “Coastyle Building Solutions has shown a demonstrated commitment to the local community through employment pathways and the sponsorship and support of many local organizations,” judge Tom Brady said. “This contribution to build and grow the community is a core principle of the business. They also provide comprehensive mental and physical support to the team.”
Coastyle Building Solutions prides itself on its team-focus and invests in educating and training its staff across several aspects of mental health. The business also proactively hires locally and uses local suppliers, craftsmen, and trades, providing employment to more than 40 trades across the region.
An avid supporter of local schools, community groups, and non-profits, Coastyle Building Solutions continues to serve as an example of how businesses can have a positive impact on the community through more than just donations.
