GBEA winner – Business Leader of the Year Award – Jo Plummer
Jo Plummer, affectionately known as the ‘positive provocateur’, is relentless in her drive to positively shape the future of the organisations with which she is engaged.
A highly experienced business strategist, facilitator and mentor, Jo has worked across large commercial corporations, small to medium enterprises, government entities and not-for-profit environments.
Her portfolio is broad and features several board and committee chair roles, including her current appointments with Barwon Water and the Country Fire Authority (CFA), where her trademark is aligning customer and community expectations with sound commercial, social and environmental outcomes.
Jo also manages her own coaching business, Out of the Box Executive, which she describes as a professional renovator for boards, committees, directors and business owners.
Working with organisations to improve their performance, Jo challenges the status quo and promotes an ‘out of the box’ philosophy that extends from the way she engages with her clients through to her collaborative approach to problem-solving.
She derives tremendous joy and pride from helping organisations and individuals to perform at their optimum and challenging them to deliver outcomes beyond their purpose and value proposition.
An equalist with an approach that puts people and the environment before profit, Jo is also passionate about enabling women in business and is dedicated to helping others gain a seat at the table so they can enjoy an equal playing field.
Impressed with her desire to influence the greater good, the judges have named Jo Plummer this year’s Business Leader of the Year, sponsored by bay 93.9. The award celebrates a business professional who has demonstrated successful leadership skills.
