Children’s favourite takes to the stage
A playful story of love and nature will unfolds on stage in Geelong next month in a play by Richard Tulloch that is fun for the whole family.
To be held in Geelong Arts Centre’s Ryrie Street venue on May 14, CDP Kids will present Guess How Much I Love You as part of the 2022 Family Magic program. The play is adapted from the popular children’s picture books by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram.
Join the enchanting adventure of Little and Big Nutbrown Hare as they discover the magic and colour of the seasons, in a dazzling new stage adaptation of the beloved Guess How Much I Love You books.
The show features beautiful puppetry, music and storytelling for children aged three years and above and their adults.
“This enchanting theatre experience takes Sam McBratney’s classic picture book from page to stage in a way that is sure to spark joy, laughter, and create magical moments for your family,” GAC senior producer for families, youth and creative learning Kelly Clifford said.
Brought to life by CDP Kids, the team behind the Australian tours of The Gruffalo, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show and Spot, this family favourite will excite, educate and entertain new readers and first-time theatregoers.
To take place in Studio 4, the 50-minute performance is sure to elicit laughter, looks of wonderment and squeals of delight from audience members.
Tickets to the 10am performance have sold out. Book now for the remaining performances at noon (relaxed performance with AUSLAN interpreter) and 3pm on May 14.
Relaxed performances welcome audiences who benefit from a more relaxed environment – including but not limited to people with autism, sensory sensitivities, learning disabilities or dementia, and those living with anxiety or who have experienced trauma.
