Performance filled with purpose and courage

One of Victoria’s top musical talents will land in Geelong later this month for a benefit concert at Costa Hall.

The special concert will support the children and families of Victoria Police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Taxiride’s Jason Singh will take to the stage at the event, performing his Heavens Greatest Hits show as a tribute to all fallen officers.

Members of the Victoria Police community and the families of those who have served will also make special appearances throughout the event.

The benefit concert, held to support Victoria Police Legacy, aims to raise vital money to establish an education fund.

This fund will provide ongoing educational opportunities for the children affected.

“When a police officer dies on duty, the impact reaches far beyond the badge,” VETROK Music’s David Dent said.

“This education fund will ensure their children are supported through every stage of schooling and into their future careers.

“The concert is an opportunity for the community to show that they are never forgotten.”

The Victoria Police Legacy support scheme was established in 1980 and provides a range of services to Victoria Police families who have lost a loved one.

This support includes emotional, social and financial assistance, ensuring the sacrifices of fallen officers are never forgotten and their loved ones are cared for.

The not-for-profit organisation provides its services to more than 1,200 police legatees, with its compassionate staff undertaking home visits to help facilitate the connection and engagement of its police legatees with the wider police family through a variety of activities and trips away for different ages groups.
