Police have renewed their appeal to find the driver involved in a Belmont hit-run that left a woman with serious facial, skull and pelvic fractures.

A 51-year-old Belmont woman was walking along Barrabool Road near the intersection of Riverview Terrace at about 1pm on Saturday 12 October, 2024, when she was struck by a vehicle.

Police allege the driver failed to stop and help, leaving several passers-by to come to the woman’s aid and call emergency services.

Nearly two years after the collision, Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are again urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved was a grey Holden Statesman that would have sustained damage to its front windscreen in the collision.
