SATURDAY’S return of the Geelong Rainbow Festival drew people into the city centre as the community gathered for a day of pride and connection.

The morning began with a march through Geelong’s streets, between Austin Park and Johnstone Park, led by

motorbikes carrying rainbow flags.

Participants donned bright outfits and costumes, embracing colour as a statement of pride.

Through the afternoon, the free event filled Johnstone Park with live performances, DJs and drag artists, alongside food trucks, market stalls and children’s activities.

Following last year’s cancellation, the volunteer-run festival burst back onto the scene in an expanded three-day format that also included a cabaret party at Geelong Arts Centre and a presence at the Victorian Pride Street Party, which is part of the statewide Midsumma Festival.
