THIRTY-FOUR prep pupils kicked off an exciting new chapter of their young lives at Moriac Primary School this week.

The school’s youngest students joined their new Grade 6 buddies on Tuesday walking through the gates for their first official school day.

Pupuls from Grades 1 to 5 also returned to school grounds to begin term one for 2024.

Moriac Primary School principal Melissa Maccora said there was plenty of excitement for the 2024 school year.

“We are really looking forward to what the year will bring, particularly for our prep students.

“It’s a huge year for these little people and their families as they venture off into formal schooling.

“It’s our biggest intake of preps for a few years too, supporting the notion that Moriac is certainly a fast-growing suburb.

“We endeavour to make the transition as calm and prepared as possible for these preps and we look forward to seeing their growth and having them here.”

More than one million students across Victoria started the school year this week.
