City distributes free COVID tests

FREE Rapid Antigen Tests (RATS) for COVID-19 are now available at City of Greater Geelong libraries, leisure centres and customer service centres.

Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said there were no eligibility requirements for people collecting the virus detections kits, which are available at the following locations:

Barwon Heads Library
Bellarine Aquatic and Sports Centre, Ocean Grove
Belmont Library
Chilwell Library
City of Greater Geelong Customer Service Centres at Corio Shopping Centre and Drysdale Library
Corio Library
Drysdale Library
Geelong Library & Heritage Centre (The Dome)
Geelong West Library
Highton Library
Lara Library
Leisurelink Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Waurn Ponds
Leisuretime Sports Precinct, Norlane
Leopold Library
Newcomb Library
Ocean Grove Library
Splashdown Leisure Centre, Moolap
Waterworld Leisure Centre, Norlane, and
Waurn Ponds Library.

“Everyone is welcome to come pick up free RATs from our participating council facilities, no matter their age or health, disability or carer status,” Cr Sullivan said.

“Community members can take up to two kits per person plus up to two for each household member, while those with a disability or their carer can collect up to four packets of tests.

“Following the closure of state PCR testing sites, the Victorian Government is supporting local councils to distribute free tests until June this year.”
