POPULAR Australian rock band Body Type will take centre stage as the headline act for the 2024 Festival of Sails in January.

The four-piece from Sydney is hailed as “one of Australia’s best current live acts”, with critics around the world stamping their new hit record as “one of the finest of the year”.

“Everything is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising” was shortlisted for the prestigious Australian Music Prize and described as “a tightly coiled collection of post-punk tracks that tackled industry chauvinists, sexual power and rage.”

Joining the Sydney based quartet at Australia’s oldest yachting regatta will be ARIA award winners Southern Sons, and The Australian INXS Show.

Festival of Sails chairman, Paul Buchholz said next year’s lineup is one of the best in many years.

“We have three days of fabulous entertainment with dozens of performers entertaining the crowds, from well-known favourites right through to our Emerging Artists competition,” he said.

“And of course, we also have our family-friendly stars like the Royal Australian Navy Band and the Mik Maks, so something to suit just about everyone.

“The festival has a reputation as a great fun party destination and given the musical line-up we have and I am sure that this year – yet again – we’ll see the crowds, up dancing, singing and having a seriously great time.”
