THE Geelong City Market is hopping into the spirit of Easter tomorrow, running what it describes as the biggest Easter egg hunt in Geelong.

Children from across the region are invited to join the hunt from 9am on Easter Saturday and see how many chocolate treasures they can discover throughout the market in Little Malop Street.

Other free activities for young people include an Easter drawing competition in the market’s dedicated kids’ creative space, with a giant Easter egg awarded to the most imaginative creation.

The Kidz Kitchen will host an cooking demonstration featuring a rainbow fried rice recipe at 11am showing how children can cook in the kitchen, and Simone from Amazed Gluten Free has made a huge croquembouche that she will be raffling off.

“This Easter we wanted to create something really special for families,” Geelong City Market founder, Simon Toohey, said.

“The market is already a place where community comes together every Saturday, so bringing the biggest Easter egg hunt in Geelong into the mix just felt right.

“It’s going to be a fantastic morning for kids and parents alike.”

No bookings are required for the Easter events.

Attendees can expect the usual Geelong City Market atmosphere: fresh local produce, artisan food, makers, live music and a buzzing community vibe in the heart of the city.

The market is supported by the City of Greater Geelong.
