Golf day in Torquay offers hole-in-one car prize

GOLFERS of all abilities are invited to join an event in Torquay next week that will reward a perfect tee shot with a new car.

The Surf Coast Suns Football and Netball Club is hosting the four-person Ambrose tournament at The Sands Resort, and limited places are still available.

As a special feature on the day, Kings Cars Mitsubishi Waurn Ponds and Maven Insurance and Advisory is sponsoring a hole-in-one prize, where anyone who aces a particular hole on the day will win a new Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.

“It can go off multiple times, which is unlikely, but we’ll see how we go,” Surf Coast Suns treasurer Joel Bett said.

He said it was the first golf day the Suns had hosted in a couple of years.

“It’s nearly booked out, and it looks like being a great day.”

Kings Cars Mitsubishi Waurn Ponds sales consultant Lucas Oddo said the Outlander’s features included a 2.5L petrol engine, 360-degree cameras, front and rear sensors, and blind spot sensors, with the SUV retailing for about $42,000.

“It’s a very good prize.”

Maven Insurance and Advisory account manager Tom Milner said his company was happy to be on board for the day.

“We like getting involved in local clubs, so with the Suns seniors starting next year, it was a good thing to get involved in.”

The golf day will be held on Friday, October 24, and includes breakfast from 7am and a light lunch from 12.30pm, with golfers teeing off for an 8am shotgun start.
