MORE than 120 avid golfers teed off and helped to raise more than $100,000 for the Give Where You Live Foundation at its 32nd annual e&s Golf Classic.

Last Friday’s event was labelled by organisers “as a resounding success”, with 25 local businesses taking part in the event at Curlewis Golf Club.

All funds raised will directly support the foundation in continuing to help create a fairer and more equitable community, with a focus on food security, homelessness and inclusive employment.

Foundation chief executive officer, Bill Mithen said the generosity of the Geelong community “knows no limits”.

“It was great to see the business sector hitting the greens and golfing for good.

In the 70th year of the Give Where You Live Foundation, it is great to see this community support continue.

“We’re working hard to create a fairer Geelong and we can only do that with the support of our community.

“Due to the increased cost of living we’re seeing more and more individuals and families facing unemployment, homelessness, and struggling to put food on the table.

“The amazing efforts of all of our sponsors, prize donors and participants will help those most in need in our community.”‘

e&s managing director Rob Sinclair thanked the Geelong business community for their support.

“Sense of community is important to us, and we are thrilled to give back to the Geelong community who buys our product and gives back to us,” he said.

“When you see an organisation like Give Where You Live Foundation whose tentacles reach further than most, it’s so nice to put our horsepower behind them.

“This Geelong market means a lot to myself and our staff.”

The e&s Golf Classic has now raised over $2.2 million for the Foundation over the last 32 years.
