John Eren appointed to Kardinia Park Stadium Trust

FORMER Victorian MP John Eren has been appointed to the board of the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust.

The trust administers, promotes and manages GMHBA Stadium and surrounding land, which includes the Barwon Regional Cricket Centre and the Geelong Sports Museum.

Its overarching objective is to contribute to the economy, community and liveability of the Geelong region and the state.

As a member of the Victorian Parliament, Mr Eren represented the Geelong area for two decades.

He was the Geelong Province member in the Legislative Council from 2002 to 2006, then the Member for Lara in the Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2022.

Mr Eren held several roles on committees and was a parliamentary secretary, and was the Minister for Sport, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs between 2014 and 2018.

He will join Joe Calafiore (chair), Gillian Costa, Bernadette Uzelac AM, Clare Amies and Tony Ficca on the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust board.

Mr Calafiore welcomed the appointment.

“We congratulate John and look forward to him joining the trust,” he said.

“John’s experience from over 20 years in government as the former Minister for Sport will be very valuable for us.”
