Leigh Sales to headline International Women’s Day event

NOTED journalist and author Leigh Sales will be the special guest at this year’s International Women’s Day Breakfast hosted by the Committee for Geelong.

Sales presently anchors Australian Story on ABC.

Before that, she presented the network’s prime time current affairs program 7.30 for 12 years. She has been the face of the ABC’s major events coverage, including federal election and budget nights.

Sales has interviewed every living Australian Prime Minister and innumerable world leaders and celebrities from Hillary Clinton and Tony Blair to Paul McCartney and Elton John.

She is the author of five books, including the national bestseller Any Ordinary Day, Well Hello (co-written with Annabel Crabb), and her latest, Storytellers: Questions, Answers and the Craft of Journalism, which is described as “a fascinating insight into a vital and much-misunderstood profession”.

Sales and Crabb’s podcast Chat 10 Looks 3 has hundreds of thousands of listeners.

The International Women’s Day Breakfast will take place at the Presidents Room, GMHBA Stadium on March 7 from 7am to 9am.

Sales will also sign copies of her books from 6.30am.
