MORE than 100 golfers from 25 local businesses will tee off for a good cause today (February 9) at the 32nd e&s Golf Classic.

The event at Curlewis Golf Club will raise funds for Give Where You Live Foundation’s (GWYLF) work to help create a fairer community.

Funds will be directed towards food security, homelessness and inclusive employment across the Geelong region.

Foundation Silver Donor, Hanlon Industries, Built, Whitford and Waurn Ponds Hotel are among the businesses teeing off for the cause.

GWYLF chief executive officer Bill Mithen said the annual golf classic was an integral part of its fundraising.

“Since its inception in 1992 this event has raised over $2 million for the Geelong community,” he said.

“The annual e&s Golf Classic is always a highlight on the Foundation’s events calendar, with golfers from a range of local businesses coming together to enjoy a great day out on the course, while also raising vital funds for the Foundation.”

A range of prizes are on offer for winners of various contests and competitions, including the hole in one award.

Adroit Insurance & Risk is also sponsoring a luncheon for players after their time on course.
