A Thomson man has been charged after two pedestrians were allegedly struck by a car in Geelong on Sunday morning.

Victoria Police said detectives from the Geelong Crime Investigation Unit are investigating after a green Audi allegedly collided with two men walking along Police Lane just before 7am on April 19.

Police allege the vehicle then fled the scene.

Emergency services attended and the two injured men were taken to hospital.

A 26-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while a 21-year-old man sustained minor injuries.

Investigators later located the Audi in Thomson and arrested a 22-year-old man nearby.

The Thomson man has since been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally cause injury, attempt to intentionally cause injury, driving in a manner dangerous, failing to stop after an accident, failing to render assistance, and possessing cannabis.

He was scheduled to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on April 20.

Police have not released any further details about the circumstances leading up to the alleged incident, and investigations remain ongoing.

The charges follow what police allege was a deliberate collision involving pedestrians in a central Geelong laneway during the early morning.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online.

Victoria Police media officers Kathryn Muffet and Senior Constable Paul Hogan issued the release on Sunday.

The matter is now before the court.
