A POPULAR playground located next to the Geelong Botanic Gardens will temporarily close for routine maintenance.

The award-winning Eastern Gardens Play Space will close on Tuesday, February 6, for maintenance works.

City of Greater Geelong executive director for placemaking Tennille Bradley thanked community members for their patience as the playground’s equipment and facilities are inspected and if necessary, replaced.

Located on the Eastern Park Circuit, the Eastern Gardens Play Space is one of Geelong’s most popular play spaces.

“The City is proud to offer such a popular play space adjacent to the well-patronised Botanic Gardens,” Ms Bradley said.

“Given its prime location, it is crucial that we ensure the play space is in top condition.”

The Eastern Gardens Play Space, renowned for its inclusive design, provides play options for children of all ages and abilities.

Located inside Geelong’s Eastern Park, the play space also provides breathtaking views over Corio Bay. The City stated the closure aligns with its commitment to maintaining recreational facilities for the community’s enjoyment.
