Residents urged to stay indoors amid Bell Park police incident
Police have cordoned off several streets in Bell Park as negotiations continue with a man barricaded inside a home on McClelland Street.
RESIDENTS in Geelong’s northern suburbs have been urged to stay indoors as police continue to negotiate with a man barricaded inside a Bell Park home.
Officers were called to a property in McClelland Street about 4.30pm today (Tuesday, November 4) to conduct a welfare check when the man barricaded himself inside.
Police have cordoned off McClelland Street, Yaraan Street and Thorburn Street as a precaution.
In a statement, Victoria Police confirmed there is no risk to the public.
“Police have cordoned off McClelland Street, Yarran Street and Thorburn Street, and ask the public to avoid the area.
“Police ask those residing in the area to remain indoors.”
