Sampson launches month-long business festival

GEELONG Small Business Festival is off and running following the program’s sold-out launch hosted by businessman Todd Sampson.

More than 250 people attended The Pier Geelong to hear the adventurer, award-winning documentary-maker and television presenter open the month-long festival.

Award-winning documentary-maker, television presenter and adventurer, Todd Sampson, opened Geelong Small Business Festival to a crowd of 250 at The Pier Geelong. He was joined by, from left, Lach Ryan, Ruck Agency, Julia Green, Greenhouse Interiors, Mayor Peter Murrihy, Celeste Robertson, Natural Supply Co, and Rainer Spoljaric, FUNK Café and Botanical Brew, to launch the month-long event.

 

Mr Sampson revealed some of the practical tools and techniques business owners can use to improve business processes and manage the challenges and stresses of modern life.

“Guest speakers, like Todd, can really inspire business owners and operators to try something different and take their business to the next level,” City of Greater Geelong mayor Peter Murrihy said.

“Now in its 12th year, our region’s largest dedicated business festival has helped hundreds of local businesses and thousands of people looking to start, grow or improve their business.”

Sampson took photos with small business owners after launching the month-long festival.

 

Events, workshops, and presentations hosted during August will cover topics including marketing, social media, promoting business online, business essentials, career development.

“The program features more than 50 low-cost and free events designed to connect, inspire, grow and support our local business community,” mayor Murrihy said.

“Whether you’re experienced in business, a budding entrepreneur or looking to start your own business, GSBF provides opportunities to hear from industry experts, upskill, gain knowledge across all areas of business and make new business connections.”

The festival aims to cater to the 19,000 small businesses that contribute to Greater Geelong’s economy.
