Two injured in alleged deliberate hit-and-run
Police allege a driver deliberately struck two pedestrians in central Geelong on Sunday before fleeing the scene.
A suspected deliberate hit-and-run has left two pedestrians injured in central Geelong.
Detectives from the Geelong Crime Investigation Unit allege a green Audi drove into the two men while they were walking along Police Lane just before 7am on Sunday.
The driver fled the scene.
A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 21-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
Investigators later located the Audi in Thomson and arrested a 22-year-old man near the scene.
The Thomson man has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing injury, driving in a dangerous manner, failing to stop after an accident, failing to render assistance and possessing cannabis.
He is due to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
