More than 60 surfers competed in the second round of the tri-event Victorian Junior Titles series.

A Torquay trio have surfed to success at the Victorian Junior Surfing Titles at Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula.

Heidi Abetz (Under 18 Girls), Harlem Pec (Under 16 Boys) and Stevie O’Day (Under 14 Girls) won their respective divisions at the second round of the tri-event surf series.

Over 60 competitors battled the tricky conditions at The Gunnery, with a large swell shifting competition away from primary location Gunnamatta and to the more protected Flinders.

In the Under 18 Girls, Heidi Abetz continued her hot streak after breaking through for her first state win at the opening round at Bells Beach.

Abetz finished on top by just 0.1 to beat Chloe Muscroft (Jan Juc).

“The conditions were super tricky, and it was the first time I had ever surfed here, which made it hard,” Abetz said.

“But all the girls did really well. I’m just super happy to win!”

Lilian Bassed (Sandy Point, 9.27 points) and Savannah Bennett (Cape Woolamai, 4.73 points) finished in third and fourth position.

Harlem Pec battled fellow local pair Tully Gordon and Eden Hawken and Barwon Heads surfer Levi Vosloo in the Under 16 Boys Final.

Remy Filer (Jan Juc) finished fourth in the Under 18 Boys.

His strong surfing on his forehand helped him come out on top in fine fashion.

Stevie O’Day also continued her successful run from the opening round to take home the Under 14 Girls title.

Her clever attack on the sections was enough to oust her sibling Cobie O’Day, Lily White and Estella Carbonelli.
